Music commentary
In music history, the pieces written for viola solo is limited, especially in contemporary era. In spring 2007, I was commissioned by professor Yang to write a piece for viola. I tried to create a style that based on the traditionally performed technique, still in contemporary fashion. This music uses a serial of 12 tones and a famous Taiwanese folk song can be heard indistinctly at the background. The whole piece applies the concept by using the D tone as a Haupt-Toene which runs through the whole piece.
