LIN, Ming-Chieh

Lin studied under the instruction of many famous composers in Taiwan, such as Ching-Yu Hsiau, Tze-Min Hsiung, Gordon Shi-Wen Chin, and Fanglong Ke. He has given presentations of his works for many times. His works include pieces for four-part male voice choir:Ave Maria (2004), To ~ Music, When Soft Voices Die (2008), Kangdaw Riyar (2012), Liuqiu Island (2014), Orchid Island: Welcoming Song (2014), Yi Shi Wu Que (meaning “well provided with food and clothing” in Chinese Mandarin) (2016);pieces for four-part mixed choir:Ave Maria (2004), Kenting Capriccio – Dajian Mountain (2013), Missa Formosa (2017);pieces for children’s choir:Wandering to Hometown (2011) and so on, pieces for recorder ensemble:The Rite (2017), Woods In The Wind (2017), and dozens of transcriptions for various choirs or instrumentations. Lin’s compositional style and harmonic progression are full of his personal traits. In recent years, he has kept trying different elements and making a breakthrough in the field of composition. Recently, Lin teaches at Tainan University of Technology, Taichung Second Senior High School, National Nantou Senior High School, and Changhua Arts Senior High School.
