Hsiao-Feng Chang is a taiwanese composer and pianist. He was born in Taiwan on June 17, 1983. He undertook a range of musical studies: piano, composition, chamber music and electronic music under Marco Stroppa, Stefano Gervasoni, Oliver Schneller, Ákos Hernádi, Fang-Lung Ke, Chan Chen at the National Taiwan Normal University, Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, Staatliche Musikhochschule Trossingen. He was also as exchange Student at Conservatoire National Supérior Musique et Danse de Paris. He became the „Outstanding Award“ for his Composition highest Diplom (Konzerexamen).

At the age of 20 he became the commission for composing the Musical “ The Smile of the Angel”. And He won the several Composition Prices such as the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra composition competition, National Taiwan Arts Education Center.

C.Y.C. Wind Orchestra to the 12th World Association performed his Work “Rhapsody on the Opera Song” for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles in Esplanade Theatres on the Bays. After the performance he signed the publish contract with Canon. He also received the arrangement commission for the Taiwanese folk songs from Taiwan Music Center and published his score and record.2011and 2012 he held his Composition Portrait in Stuttgart and Munich Gasteig. He music was also performed around the world such as: Taipei National Concert Hall, Singapore, Paris, Berlin (Konzerthaus), Stuttgart (Liederhalle), Munich (Gasteig), Hamburg (Laeiszhalle), andVienne.

Since 2004 he began to receive the composition commissions such as: C.Y.C. wind band, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Clownmime Group (Musical), Jade Quartet, Percussion Lien, Musikhochschule Stuttgart, Musikhochschule Detmold, Gelberklang Ensemble and Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart.

2008 he won the Price for the Best Interpretation of the new music in the 8th Albert Roussel Piano Competition in Sofia. After the Competition he was invited to play at the Culture Institute of France.

Now he is a very popular musician who was invited to play the concert or perform his music in Europe and Taiwan.
