Mr. Hsieh studied composition with Meng-Wen Shih, Deh-Ho Lai and Hwang-Long Pan and got the Konzertexamen degree in Composition under Professor Johannes Schöllhorn in Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. His compositional works won several prizes. The works “Spider Web”, “Wind and Fire” and “Spiegel” won the prizes at the Literature and Arts Competition held by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. The work “Love me! Sea” won first prize at the competition held by the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. The works “Missing the nest outside Room 216 on Unter krahnenbäume” and “Hidden Behind the Glass” got the allowance from NTSO. The work “Gang” won second prize at the electronic music composition competition held by the Computer Space Music Festival in Bulgaria. The work “A Phoenix Tree on A Raining Night” won the composition prize held by the National Theater and Concert Hall in Taiwan. Now Mr. Hsieh teaches composition and music theory at National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan.
