Yu-Ting Hsiao is a rising composer who is currently the producer of "Sound Design Music Production", the president of the Clap&Tap Chamber Orchestra, and a commissioned music arranger for the Taiwan Soloists Symphony Orchestra. Yu-Ting graduated from the Department of Music of the National Taiwan Normal University with a major in composition. While studying for his master’s degree at the Graduate School of Music of the National Taiwan Normal University, Yu-Ting received instruction from many excellent composers and professors, allowing him to establish a rich foundation in composition. As a student, Yu-Ting won many awards from various composition competitions, including the My First Show Program held by the Ministry of Culture in 2014. After graduation, Yu-Ting devoted himself to a career in composition, arrangement, accompaniment, album production, and other related work.

The retired composer from New York University, Wen Lung-Hsin, once said: "He utilizes a passionate yet reserved style of musical expression. He is a composer who is able combine both technique and emotion". Yu-Ting’s works have been performed in the U.S., France, South Korea, and Taiwan, where they have been highly praised. He is skilled in drawing inspiration from everyday life and showing concern and fascination towards local culture and nature. In 2015, Jingo International Records released Yu-Ting’s first solo album- "Hua-Dong Images". This album qualified for the final round of the 27th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music for "Best Fusion Album". Several compositions in the album were also chosen to serve as "Indigenous Music Teaching Material" by the National Taiwan Arts Education Center in 2011. The chamber music piece, "Ilisin", which was inspired by the ilisin of the Ami tribe, also won an Honorable Mention in the "Cultural Creation Awards" held by the Ministry of Education in 2009.

Choral music is an major musical form among Yu-Ting’s compositions. Time and time again, his choral works have won recognition in various competitions. In 2016, the piece "Grandmother Had" won second place in the composition selection for adult mixed choral music in the 2016 "Sound of a New Melody" awards. In addition, in 2012, the piece, "The Egret" was chosen in the "Searching for New Taiwanese Music- 40th Anniversary of the Taipei Philharmonic" held by the Taipei Philharmonic Foundation for Culture and Education and became the designated song for the 2018 Taipei International Choral Competition. In 2009, the piece, "From Far Away" won first prize in a Chinese choral composition competition held by the Irvine Chinese Chorus and another piece, "The Voice Beyond the Border" was selected in the "Taiwanese Musical Composition Selection" held by the National Theater and Concert Hall Musical Classics

Besides engaging in musical composition, Yu-Ting also enthusiastically expanded the scope of his composition. He often took on a wide variety of commissions, all of which were favorably received, including musical design for the "28th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music", orchestral arrangement for the "Yo-kai Watch Symphonic Concert" which featured a popular Japanese cartoon, orchestral arrangement for the song "Me, 19" in Cincin Lee’s album," Cin Cinema" (the album won the "Best Instrumental Album Producer" award in the Instrumental Category of the 28th Golden Melody Awards), composition of exhibition music for the three major art exhibitions of Taoyuan in 2015 and 2016, production of the album, "Feather of Sentiments", and production of the album "The Story at My Home Village".

Yu-Ting Hsiao has continued to tirelessly pursue composition and he never places limits on what he is capable of accomplishing. He hopes to work together with musicians to connect with society through music, establish a cultural foundation, and instill life and passion in Taiwanese music.
