Having a master's degree in music from NTHU, Yu-Ting Hsiao is now the producer of the Sound Design Music Production music studio, the head of the Clap&Tap Chamber Orchestra, and the special arranger of the Taiwan Soloist Symphony Orchestra. His solo album "HuaTung Images" was shortlisted for the Best Cross-Border Music Album Award in the 27th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music, and he won the Ministry of Culture's Excellent Newcomer Award in 2014.
Hsiao's works have strong and restrained emotions. He is good at incorporating local elements into his works, which fully demonstrates his care and love for the land. In 2011, his string works were selected as "Local Music Teaching Materials" by National Taiwan Arts Education Center. In 2009, the chamber music work ilisin inspired by the Amis tribe was awarded the "Art Creation Award" by the Ministry of Education. In 2016, his choral work Grandma's hand won the second prize in the adult mixed voice group of the New Choral Songs of Taiwan Songwriting Selection Project. In 2012, White Egrets was selected in the 40th anniversaries of "TAIPEI PHILHARMONIC FOUNDATION" selection, and became the designated song of the 2018 Taipei International Chorus Competition. In 2009, his work From far away won the first prize of the Irvine Chinese Chorus Chinese Chorus Competition. In 2009, The voice beyond the border was selected into the "Chinese Music Creation Selection" of the National Performing Arts Center.
Not only the creation of Art Music, Hsiao also accepts commissions of various types, including: "The 28th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music " ceremony series of event project execution and music design; orchestral arrangement of the famous Japanese cartoon "Yo-kai Watch Symphony Concert"; the orchestral arrangement of CinCin Lee s "Mood Cinema" album Me, 19 (the album won the 28th Golden Melody Awards Performance Category-Best Album Producer Award); album producer of "Feather of Sentiments" and "The Tree at My Home Village".
