YANG Jin Fong, a Taiwanese composer (Hsihu tn., Changhua, ROC). His works has been performed in many international concerts. He used to be a member of council of R.O.C. Association of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM); He used to be a member of board of supervisor of National Committee, Asian Composers' League, R.O.C

YANG was the Doctor of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Professor Victor Chan Wai Kwong. (Advised by Song-ren Xu, Nan-zhang Qian, Yoshihisa Taira, Chinary Ung, Loong-hsing Wen, Hwang-long Pan, Chin-yu Lin and Victor Chan Wai Kwong for Composition.)

YANG was the Member of Société des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Éditeurs de Musique.

2007

Full-time Assistant Professor of Institute of Art Study of National Cheng Kung University.

2006

“Moonlight” Won the “Xu Changhui Music Creation Award” for the best vocal music category.

2004

Symphony work “Light” was selected for the premiere at the 2004 Asian Composers League Israel Music Festival.

Obtain the Wu Dajiang Traditional Music Memorial Scholarship of Chung Chi College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

2003

Obtain the scholarship from the Hong Kong Composers and Writers Association.

2002

Woodwind quintet “Alien-colour” for the 2002 Annual Conference of the World Contemporary Music Association.

Served as a computer music lecturer in the 89th "Performing Arts Teachers Training Camp" of the National Art Education Museum, teaching music computer-assisted modern music teaching. (By Department of Music, National Taiwan Normal University)

1999

The National Science Council rewarded research excellent dissertation type B grants (master's thesis) and awarded 50,000 NT$.

1998

Obtain National Art and Culture Foundation assisted computer music creation work “Space”, awarded 200,000 NT$.

Chamber music works “Sol” won the Ministry of Education's literary creation award.

Debut of the chamber music piece “Quiet” for the China-Korea Modern Music Festival.

1997

Chamber music works “Sol” performed in the Chinese and Korean Composers (Seoul) Exchange Music Exhibition.

Invited to give lectures at the existing schools in Keelung (a total of five schools in Keelung Girls' Middle School) to give a lecture on the appreciation of modern music.

Chamber music works “Sol” will be performed at the International Modern Music Festival Keelung Culture and Art Season and Spring and Autumn Music Exhibition.

1996

The flute solo “Solo” was performed in the Taiwanese Composer Music Exhibition at the Paris Cultural Center in November.

1995

The Ministry of Education awards the artist in Cité Internationale des Arts of Paris, France. (1995/8 – 1996/7)

1995

Held a personal music exhibition at the Cité Internationale des Arts of Paris.

Chamber music “Nanustep” was selected as the representative of young composers and participated in the 17th Festival of Asian Composers Union in Bangkok.

String Quartet No. 2 was invited to perform in Spring-Autumn Music.

1994

Performed of the chamber music “Spider’s Thread” at the Sixth Musical Festival of the Asian Composers’ League in Taiwan, R.O.C.

1993

Participated the serial activity of “Youth Musician” and held the recital at the National Auditorium.

Debut of the piano piece “Light Fog” (from piano piece collection “Haze”) for the 1993 Annual Conference of the World Contemporary Music Association, in Mexico.

Participated in the Gaudeamus festival as a delegate of the International Society for Contemporary Music in Taiwan.

Commissioned by the Wanderer Dance Studio and debut of it at the National Theater.

Flute Duo “Floating Boat” was recommended to be played by the ONUÉSC (Organisation des Nations Unies Pour l'éducation, la Science et la Culture) Review Committee.

1992

Awarded the second prize in the string quartet “Quartet” at the First Taipei Competition for Young Composers in Taiwan in November.

Piano's piece “Haze” was recommended to the piano concert of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) in Mexico in October 1993.

1991

Advised by Dr. Chinary Ung who is the professor of Arizona State University.

1990

Completed the work “Spider's Thread” entrusted by the National Executive Yuan Community of Cultural Construction.

Debut of “Quartet I” at National Auditorium sponsored by the National Executive Yuan Community of Cultural Construction.

Awarded the Special Prize in the anthem in the Army.

Received the Best Achievement in the string quartet “Nostalgia in Late Summer” from the National Executive Yuan Community of Cultural Construction.

Completed the flute duet “Floating Boat” and debut of it at the Graduation Concert in April.

Received the Best Achievement in the wood-wine quintet “Chi” from the National Committee at Taiwan, R.O.C. of the Asian Composers' League.

Debut of “Chi” at the Musical Festival sponsored by the Asian Composers’ League and International Society for Contemporary Music at Hongkong in October.

Finished and published “Phenomenon of Music” (musical article) in the periodical of National Institute of the Arts.

Assistant of the large-size opera “Pilgrims to the West” in December.

1986

Debut of the chamber music “Wine Stains” at the Eleventh Musical Festival of the Asian Composers' League in Taiwan, R.O.C. Yang was one of the two students who were invited to this debut.

Revised “La Cathedrale Engloutie” (from Debussy) entrusted by Taiwan Provincial Symphony Orchestra.

Debut of the chamber music “Molt” at Dr. Sun Yuat Sen Memorial Hall and received many acclamations.

Received the Best Achievement in the chamber music “Wine Stains” from the National Executive Yuan Community of Cultural Construction.

Received the Best Achievement in the recorder quintet “Wei” from the Yamaha Music & Electronics Taiwan Co., Ltd.

Received the Best Achievement in the work, “Without Title” for the Chinese Ancient Lute at the Second Composition Construction of National Institute of the Arts.

Awarded the special prize for the piano solo “Huai” in the Contest of Tcherepnin Memorial Awards.

Awarded a prize for the chamber music for teenagers “Molt” form the Qiu Zaixing Culture and Education Foundation.

1983

Passed the entrance examinations on both composition and flute majors of National Institute of the Arts and chose composition as the major and advised by Professor Hwang-Long Pan.

Awarded the first prize in the Changhua County Flute Competition.
