Lo, Pei-yin, born in Taipei in 1971, is a Taiwanese composer. She has a Ph. D. degree in Music Art from National Taiwan Normal University, master of Arts degree of National Chiao-Tung University. In 2011 and 2012, she successively published works on behalf of Taiwan at the "International Rostrum of Composers" (International Rostrum of Composers). In 2000, 2008, and 2010, she won the Ministry of Education's Literary Creation Award-Music Composition Award for three times. Many judges said that "composers seek multiple technical expansions from the established limited materials, which will eventually echo the real feelings of life...", " With rich harmony, vocabulary, and diverse theme gestures, it expresses the poet's artistic conception...", "The vocabulary of the piano is very mature to the artistic conception, with many changes in timbre. Her works include chamber music, orchestral music, children's piano music, etc., with rich and diverse creative styles. She often expresses her concern and thinking about poetry, literature and culture through music creation. In 2001, she performed in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) with her orchestral work "Lan-ting", using rich orchestral sounds to describe the beauty of Wang Xizhi’s calligraphy; in 2008, she was awarded the title of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra (NTSO) ) Composer-in-residence, published orchestral work "Four Tanka of Dreams " based on the poems of Japanese poetess Ono Komachi; in 2019, she published " The Butterflies in Breeze-Symphonic poem for violin concerto " in contemporary music with the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra. The grammar cleverly blends traditional ballads and gives new ideas.
Currently, she is a member of the Association of Asian Compositions (ACL) of the Republic of China, Association of Chinese Female Composers, Formusica, Modern Music Association, etc. And published many analysis and research books. She is currently a supervisor of the Association of Asian Compositions (ACL) of the Republic of China, a municipal consultant of the Education Bureau of Taipei City Government, and a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Music of Soochow University.
