Music commentary
I was commissioned by professor Sung to write a music for the Magic Clarinet Quartet. This music will be used as the material to introduce the university students to learn about the contemporary music. This music uses many materials including a serial of 12 tones at the beginning and ending sections. And a fragment of Taiwanese folk song was added at the main section. There are many special play techniques, such as kiss voice, oral voice, noise voice, glissando, tongue click, double tone (harmonics), mouth piece voice and key voice etc, so I named it as Chat-Chat When the music began, there were only three performers on the stage. The fourth one of the 1st clarinet who played the first sentence as a question entered the stage. The others performed as the answer. On the contrary, near the end of the music, every performer left the stage one by one, except the 1st clarinet, who played the last sentence on his seat until the music finished.
