SUN Yi-Cheng was born in 1990, lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from Graduate Institute of Trans-disciplinary Arts, Taipei National University of the Arts and the Department of Life Science of National Taiwan University. She works as an independent curator and community contributor currently.

Sun started her curatorial practice since 2014 and is the co-organizer of Archipiélago Community which is derived from the former TW BioArt community. For Sun, she takes curatorial practices as alternative approaches to methods of producing knowledge and sees community-building as the fundamental task to cooperate with others.

SUN Yi-Cheng’s curatorial origin comes from the concerns of alternative knowledge. Since 2014, she has begun to practice curating as a method of producing alternative knowledge. She has curated exhibitions including Imaginary Body Boundary (2015), Artificial Unit (2020), the problematics involves the history of science, Science, Technology and Society, bio-ethics, etc. In addition, based on the same attention to the process of producing alternative knowledge, she also regards curating as a way to practice and research the collaborating relationship. This curatorial philosophy is also demonstrated in her exhibition and community practices, such as A Conditioned Game (2016), Unit of Interdependency (2018), Archipiélago Community (TW BioArt community), and community, “Selves-Educating on Curating” (since 2016).
