CURATORIAL INTERESTS
In 1999, I have started planning to organize a Taiwan & Northern Ireland co-exhibition,when I participated the “Horse Head International Sculpture Project 1999,” Belfast. During the one month artist-in-residence stay, I have realized the familiarity between two places: both based on marine cultures; both become turmoil because of big nations’ culture and political magnet effects; both filled with creativity and passion, yet suffer the pain of society separation. For fifteen years, after four solo exhibitions and co-exhibitions, the organizing of Voices Travel: Conversation Between Two Harbours, has formed its structure from language/power. It compares the performance between two places when facing similar issues, through the unconscious and amended special groups’ cultural concerns. I think that if an art demonstration can receive worldwide acknowledgement, while cares about every problem despite boundaries at the same time, we might can set up criteria and emotional links among the world for Taiwan’s contemporary art.
