CURATOR PROFILE
An educator, art critic, guest curator, author and traveler. Committee of Advisory Board, Asia Art Archive, Honk Kong.
Her main researches include modern art history, theory of art criticism, contemporary Asia art, curatorial practice. She was a visiting scholar at Montclair State University of New Jersey, guest associate professor in the graduate school at Tunhai University, University fellow of Hong Kong Baptist University, associate professor of the graduate Institute of Interdisciplinary Art at National Normal at Kaohsiung University, visiting professor of Graduate Program of Sculpture Department at the National Taiwan University of Art, and visiting professor of the Doctoral Program in Art Creation and Theory at Tainan National University of the Arts.
She was curator for the Taiwan Pavilion of 49th Venice Biennale. As an author, her major books included The Production Line of Contemporary Art─Cases of Creative Practice and Social Engagement, Unsilent Words─Text and Its Productive Context of Art Criticism, Beyond Interpretation─Society of Art Criticism and the Modern Avant-garde Movement, Third Wing─Art Concept and Its Dicontents, Transpassing─Special Sutdies on Contemporary Asia Art in 2010s, Biennale Fever─The Alternative Voice of Politics, Aesthetics and Institutes, After Origin: Topic on Contemporary Chinese Art in New Age, A Journey to Contemporary Art and The Constellation of Art and Culture in the Early 90’s.
CURATORIAL INTERESTS
Art, as the carrier of intellectual exploration and spiritual existence, could discover and create for the life mode through the imagination and practical action of thought, vision, knowledge and materials to reveal and form the spectacle world about the past, present and future of nature and mankind.
Curatorial practice is not only a kind of administrational craft to solve practical problems of the projects, but also a cross practice within deep reading, critical thinking, field study, communication and interactional exercises for self-ascension. It is an action of social engaged. Artistry and methodology for intervention and the establishment of individual and collective relationships are needed.
