Jing Peng, Taiwanese composer born in 1965 in Taichung, has been the resident composer for Academy of Taiwan Strings since his graduation from The University of Music Detmold (Hochschule für Musik Detmold) in Germany. Adept in breaking away from traditional academic thinking, he integrates modern and classical composing skills in his works, and seeks for the fusion of the multifarious Taiwanese culture through music. Peng had been the dean and an associate professor in the Department of Applied Music at Tainan National University of the Arts.

His primary works include seven orchestral music, nine concertos, and more than ten chamber music; many of them have been performed in Germany, France, Poland, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, and Japan. These works have also received invitations to perform by many performing arts groups from outside of Taiwan. His other works include almost a hundred arrangements, as well as several multimedia and electronic music compositions.
